Day 1: Arrival Delhi
Arrive Delhi, meeting assistance on arrival at the airport & transfer to the hotel. Later visit of City. Visit Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana – the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.
Afternoon visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199, Humayun’s Tomb, India Gate (War Memorial Arch ), Lakshminarayan Temple – a modern Hindu Temple. Also drive past President’s House, Parliament House, and Government Secretariat Buildings & Connaught Place shopping centre. Overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 02: DELHI – AGRA
After breakfast drive to Agra. (200 Kms/ 4 hours). Arrive Agra and visit Agra Fort. Later transfer to the hotel. Check in. Post lunch visit Taj Mahal built by Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Evening free / shopping. Over night at the hotel
DAY 03: AGRA – JAIPUR (235 kms)
Breakfast at hotel. Then Proceed to Jaipur. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri.
Fatehpur Sikri
is 40 kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces.
Arrive Jaipur & check in at hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Jaipur.
DAY 04: JAIPUR
Breakfast at Hotel. Morning visit Amber Fort by Elephant Ride. Amber Fort was the ancient capital of the State. Visit the Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors. Ascend the Fort on Elephant back.
Afternoon tour of Jaipur. Jaipur – the capital of Rajasthan was given a colour coat of pink a century ago in honour of a visiting Prince and ever since, it has retained this colour. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the notable astronomer. There after visit Maharaja’s City Palace and the Observatory. Drive past Hawa Mahal & through the pink rose residential & business areas. Overnight at Jaipur
DAY 05: JAIPUR – UDAIPUR
Breakfast at hotel. Then Proceed to Udaipur. En-route visit Deogarh.
Deogarh is a pleasant, little frequented town midway Udaipur and Pushkar. The narrow bazaar road, with good textiles and silver jewellery shops, winds its way up to the top of the hill where you find the beautifully renovated 17th century Deogarh Mahal Palace. Overnight at Udaipur.
DAY 06: UDAIPUR
Morning Breakfast & visit the city palace, Jagdish Temple, drive around Fatehsagar Lake, Sahelion ki bari (Queen’s resort for her friends) and Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir (Folk art museum). Afternoon free. Overnight Udaipur.
DAY 07: UDAIPUR / PUSHKAR
Morning Breakfast & Drive to Ajmer & Pushkar and check in at Hotel.
Visit the Tomb of the Sufi Saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, the Dargah Sharif. The city was founded by the Chauhan ruler, Aiaipal, during the 11th century and is dominated by the Taragarh Fort built by Prithiviraj Chauhan. Some 800 years ago, a splendid embankment was built by Anjali by the lovely lake, Ana Sagar and some 500 years later Shahjehan erected 5 beautiful marble pavilions.
By Indian standard Pushkar is a small and peaceful place. It is set on the banks of a holy lake and has many temples, including the only one dedicated to the Hindu god Bramha in the whole of India. Strolling through the bazaar street on the shore of the lake is fun and the views over the lake and the surrounding desert from one of the hilltop temples are well worth the climb. Overnight Pushkar.
DAY 08: PUSHKAR / DELHI
After breakfast drive for Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer to the airport for onward journey.
